We are delighted to take this opportunity during NCVO Volunteers Week Impact and Wellbeing-themed day to highlight and celebrate those volunteers at East Durham Trust who have had a positive impact on the mental and physical wellbeing of others in their community...
"Thank you" to the volunteers who have been recruited and trained in mental health first aid to provide a telephone befriending service through our Chit Chat Project. They have had a positive impact on the mental wellbeing of vulnerable and isolated individuals throughout their community... "Thank you" to the volunteers who were recruited as Run Leaders for our Run East Durham Project. The Run Leaders have had a positive impact on the lives of East Durham residents by supporting and encouraging them to become more physically active. The project engaged over 500 local people and increased levels of Physical Activity with five Fun Runs staged in former pit villages and a larger scale 5-kilometre event in Castle Eden Dene. "Thank you" to the volunteers who were recruited and trained as Walk Leaders for our Walk Together Project. Their volunteering efforts have helped to promote physical activity and tackle social isolation amongst over 50's within their community.
