As part of our celebration during NCVO Volunteers Week of the many volunteers who selflessly devote so much time and energy in helping and supporting us in such a wide range of ways throughout our various projects, we are highlighting the wonderful success story of East Durham Trust staff member Kylie Austin.
Kylie is a shining example of how volunteering provides major benefits to the individual volunteer such as helping to improve wellbeing, increasing employability and skills, developing opportunities to socialise and meet new friends. She recently progressed to a paid role at the Trust as Community Coaches project coordinator, after spending two years volunteering for the project. The photo gallery above includes a photo of Kylie in her volunteering capacity alongside fellow volunteers at the Community Coaches launch event in 2017, a photo of her with MP Graeme Morris at a recent event she attended on behalf of the Trust and another photo of Kylie with her current volunteers Deb, Graham and Maureen. There is also a 'case study' of Kylie together with three 'case study' quotes from Deb, Graham and Maureen respectively (you can also view a video clip of Graham, above). Finally, there is a press clipping from today's Northern Echo newspaper. Check out a more in-depth article in today's Northern Echo online about East Durham Trust's celebration of Volunteers Week which includes a feature on Kylie - HERE.
