Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Day

South Tees LRI, The James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough
 
Event overview:
This awareness day will provide various presentations from key note speakers on topics around head and neck cancer.
 
Presentations include:
  • What is a Macmillan Head and Neck Nurse
  • A patient’s experience
  • Head and Neck Cancers – current statistics, HPV & ENT surgical treatment
  • Oral and maxillofacial surgery
  • Non-surgical treatment
  • Radiotherapy side effects
  • Palliative Care
  • Electro-chemotherapy
  • Nutrition
  • Speech and swallowing

Target Audience:
GP’s, District Nurses, Community Macmillan, Hospice Staff, Hospital Staff and Dental Practices

We work directly with community members and partners to facilitate prevention, intervention and crisis support services delivered in our communities, for our communities and by our communities.

We empower people to take ownership of their own needs and work to lift up those most in need in East Durham. We help build and maintain meaningful relationships within our community ensuring those on the margins are helped to be in reach of a spectrum vital services.
