Donations urgently required for our FEED Project

3/6/2019

A huge "Thank You" to our friends at Merrick House for their generous donation of items to our FEED Project this morning.

In spite of this, however, our stocks are now severely depleted yet again, as demand continues to soar on a daily basis, far outstripping the level of donations we receive. This morning, for example, and within a matter of minutes, we had 6 referrals come in for food parcels to feed around 15 people, and yet more have been coming in this afternoon.

These photos, taken today, highlight the current lack of basic food items in our FEED cupboard. As you can see, we are in desperate need of all staple products, including tinned meat, tinned vegetables, tinned beans, tinned soup, tinned fruit and puddings, pasta sauces, Weetabix, tea & coffee, etc.

Any donation is, no matter how modest, will be greatly appreciated and will help support families and individuals in need at this time - Thank you!

WHAT WE DO

We help the communities of the former district of Easington which is made up 20 distinct areas, most of which are former Pit villages that continue to be hugely affected by deprivation following the closure of the Pits.

We run a wide range of projects to help the community fight disadvantage including food parcels, telephone befriending for the socially isolated, helping people in the downward spiral of debt, supporting people to get the benefits they deserve, providing holiday activities with food, getting the disengaged engaged with the arts and more.
