Help communities to access emergency food by supporting the provision of food to local residents in financial distress.
As an Emergency Food Volunteer, you will be required to sort donated food into similar items including checking dates. Make up emergency food parcels ready for distribution to those in need.
As an Emergency Food Volunteer your role could include:
Making up emergency food parcels
Date checking and stock rotation of food in storage cupboard
Keeping the store room clean and tidy
Stocking the shelves in the store cupboard and storage container
Helping with loading and unloading items
Desirable Criteria:
Enthusiasm and the ability to work independently and in a team
Good interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
Minimum age 18
The ability to work alone and unsupervised
Being able to lift and carry various items safely
Be willing to complete an induction and appropriate training
Working as an Emergency Food Project Volunteer you will:
Receive full induction training
Be offered peer mentoring from other volunteers
Make a positive impact to the people that need our help
Provide a service that is both rewarding and satisfying
Build your interpersonal skills
Contribute to the work of East Durham Trust
