Support local communities and help individuals get access to information, advice and guidance on their financial situation.
As a volunteer Debt Advisor you will be able to guide and empower clients, as well as negotiate with creditors on their behalf. You will evaluate the best options and strategies that apply to the client’s debt problem, looking for ways to maximise income while providing budgeting advice.
Desirable Criteria…
Be committed and reliable to ensure you attend all appointments agreed to
Good communication skills
Commitment to complete required training
Be able to commit to at least a minimum of four hours per week
A good listener, compassionate and empathetic
Must be friendly, reliable, non-judgemental and non-discriminating
Basic IT knowledge
Numeracy and literacy skills
Interest in working in the local community
Experience of supporting vulnerable individuals/individuals with disabilities
