Support the local community to access information, advice, and guidance by becoming a Volunteer Benefits Advisor today. As a Volunteer Benefits Advisor, you will be able to guide local people to complete all types of benefit claims and help them to access the support they are entitled to.
The role involves numerous tasks including:
Completing Disability Living Allowance applications
Completing Personal Independence Payment (PIP) applications
Completing UC50 (Universal Credit) applications
Providing individuals with support to appeal against decisions made by DWP
Signposting individuals to specialist services for additional support
Attending appointments to support clients with their benefits applications
Undertaking training and development applicable to the role
Respecting confidential information at all times
Ensuring all Health and Safety rules are adhered to at all times
Completing monitoring forms about the client and the support you provide them
Desirable Criteria:
Be committed and reliable to ensure you attend all appointments agreed to
Commitment to complete required training
Be able to commit at least a minimum of two hours a week
Good communication skulls
Must be a good listener, compassionate and empathetic
Must be friendly, reliable, non-judgemental, and non-discriminating
Interest in working in the local community
Experience of supporting vulnerable individuals/individuals with disabilities
Working as a Volunteer Benefits Advisor you will:
Be reimbursed all out-of-pocket expenses
Receive £0.45 per mile
Gain satisfaction of supporting vulnerable clients
