We are looking for volunteer catering assistants and volunteer drivers for our People's Takeaway project (Monday-Friday).
We are coming up to the school summer holiday period and will be running a number of free Family Activities with free food at various venues throughout East Durham. The free food will be provided through the People's Takeaway project, so we are particularly needing extra volunteers throughout this period. Even if you can only spare a few hours it would help us enormously and you would be supporting many vulnerable people in need throughout your local community. Could you spare a few hours throughout the week over the summer? If so, please contact Colin at East Durham Trust on 0191 5693511 or inbox your contact details and we will call you. Further information about the opportunities can be found HERE. Here are some photos of the JCCT Knit & Natter Friendship Group at Roseby Road Wellbeing Centre, Horden, a recently-completed 'Let's Create' project for East Durham Creates. The group is now hoping to start up again in the wintertime.
A huge "Thank you" to Janine Green (pictured here with our CEO Malcolm Fallow) and staff at HMRC, Waterview Park, Washington for their large and generous donation to our FEED Project today, which couldn't have arrived at a better a time as our foodbank shelves had been almost bare yet again, as demand for food parcels continues to soar.
Further information on FEED is available HERE. "Thank you" to the East Durham Active Men's Group at Horden Hub House for donating their crop of potatoes to our FEED Project today.
Further information on FEED is available HERE. Further information on Horden Hub House is available HERE. Over the past few weeks we have been working with our resettled families from Iraq and Syria holding workshops to introduce them to different types of art.
They have experienced playing steel drums - much to the East Durham Trust's office's enjoyment, made headpieces, origami and did willow weaving today. We hope to continue working with our Resettled Families and in the process make them feel welcome and a part of our local community. #WorldRefugeeDay #RefugeeWeek Here are some photos from today's Financial Wellbeing & Budgeting Course at East Durham Trust.
