Older Peoples Mental Health Team
This service provides assessment, treatment and support for patients from the age of 65 with a mental health problem. It can also support people under the age of 65 suffering from a dementia illness.

Age Concern offer a companion Project which matches up older adults, from the age of 50 upwards, with volunteers who can help and support them with issues surrounding mental health and isolation. There are also groups available which focus on issues such as physical wellbeing through gentle exercise and through involvement in crafts.

Place2Be.
Place2Be offers school based counselling to help children talk about anything causing them concern. Referrals are through school staff or direct to the School Project Manager in each school.

STEPS Therapeutic Services Team provide a range of social work support for children, young people (up to 18 years) and their families where they have experience ‘significant trauma’. Referral by Social Workers only.

Support for the bereaved.
Bereavement service offer a range of help for people who have lost a loved one including counselling, support and practical information and a bereavement drop in service, and specialist counselling for children. One to one support to people currently involved with Community Mental Health Teams. Day Centres.
Day care centres for people with mental health problems to support them through recovery are available to people living in the District. Services include drop ins, one to one support and a variety of activities such as arts and crafts, therapeutic groups and access to social and educational services in the community.
